Happy Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day everyone! I know…you’re probably as excited as I am, right?!
This is just a little something I put together last year…people always have the strangest idea’s of what dietitians do. I’ve literally been asked…”So, are you the person who decides who gets waffles and who gets pancakes for breakfast?”. Ummm not exactly. I try to not get offended by comments like that, haha. A lot of people honestly have absolutely no idea what dietitians do. The thing is, we do a TON of different things depending on which area of dietetics we work in. As a clinical dietitian working the Cardiac ICU and Cardiac Medical Units I do a lot of calculating tube feeds and TPN (IV nutrition) as well as providing diet education and talking with patients about how we can increase their intake and improve their nutrition while they’re sick and don’t feel like eating. I love having my blog and new FIT 4 THE SOLE business with my amazing friend Amber because it allows me to dive into a completely different side of dietetics and I really enjoy having the variety.
