I’m a big fan of protein bars. I like them because I sometimes have a hard time getting enough protein in my diet even though I feel like I eat a decent amount of meat, eggs, PEANUT BUTTER, etc. Sometimes I just can’t get it all in. So protein bars are an easy way to add in an extra 20 grams or so. Also, um, they’re delicious. Well some of them, as long as you pick the right ones. You know by now that I’m a huge quest bar fan. I love them because they’re healthy, and I feel like I’m eating dessert! I will always love quest bars, but I like to venture out sometimes and try new things too. So…
YUP (Your Unlimited Potential) Brands is a company that makes protein bars. They recently sent me a box of 10 different protein bars (7 B-up bars and 3 B-Jammin bars) to try out and review for all of you good people. I was pretty psyched on Friday to come home to a big box of new protein bars to try. I wasted no time. I ripped that thing open and immediately decided I needed to try one. After some deliberation (they all looked so good!) I decided on the Sugar Cookie B-up bar. Um…YUP for the win! It was delicious. If you, like me, are a fan of the “doughy” texture type protein bars. You’re bound to love YUP bars. After a couple bites I thought “you know what would make this even better?…Microwaving it!” So I did. And it was a very very good decision. The next day I tried out the cinnamon roll bar and decided to bake that one in the oven too. I love my protein bars baked/cooked. Both of them were really good…I also recently tried the Vanilla Peanut Butter, game changer. New favorite! AND they are fantastic nutritionally as well…
They are made with great ingredients and are gluten-free (if that’s something you’re trying to avoid, but remember, gluten ISN’T a bad thing though unless you have celiac disease).
YUP B-Up Bars Contain:
20 g Protein
18-20 g Fiber
2-3 g Sugar
4-6 g of Net carbs
So yeah, awesome. Now, I was a little more skeptical of the B-Jammin bars. I don’t’ even know why, I just wasn’t sure I’d like them. Then I tried the PB&J one…and I couldn’t have been more wrong. I LOVED them too. It literally tasted like I was eating a PB&J sandwich. The B-Jammin bars have less calories and protein (but are still high in protein) on average and more sugar. They have more sugar because they are filled with real fruit filling, so the extra sugar is mostly natural sugar from real fruit ingredients. Guys, try them. For real.
YUP B-Jammin Bars Contain:
12 g Protein
11-13 g Fiber
11-12 g Sugar
12-15 g of Net carbs
So basically, high protein, low-carb, great ingredients and D.E.L.I.Cious. I haven’t tried them all yet, but so far I’m a big fan.
So if you’re looking for an awesome protein bar, you can find them at GNC or online here.
