I used to be that girl who went to the gym, jumped on the treadmill or stair-stepper for 30 or 40 minutes then did about 5 minutes of weights and left. I had no idea what I was doing when it came to weight lifting and I felt stupid. So I’d just pick 2 or 3 machines that looked easy enough to figure out and spend a couple of minutes on them and call it good.
Slowly over the last couple years I’ve finally started doing more weights and boy, I had no idea what I was missing. Okay, so maybe it’s not that fun but I can definitely tell the difference in my muscle tone (although I still have a long way to go!) but weights really are just as important as cardio. I love the BodyPump class that my gym offers but sometimes it’s not at a time that works for me or I’m in a hurry so I’ve have to come up with some weight lifting regimes for myself. Pinterest of course has millions but they can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming. I have however, found a few that are simple, fairly quick and really do the trick (yep, that rhymed). Anyways…here are two of my favorites to do at the gym. One arm workout and one leg workout. So get started and you’ll be ripped in no time…well at least more toned. Good luck!
P.S. I usually start out by doing 3 rounds of this first:
-15 half bicep curls with a weighted bar
-15 full bicep curls with a weighted bar
-30 tricep dips on a bench Bicep Curls: Tricep Dips:
